Why this matters

Every cut is a wound the tree has to close on its own, so where and when we make it matters just as much as how much comes off. Cut flush against the trunk and you take the branch collar with it — the tissue the tree actually uses to seal that wound — and decay gets a straight line into the trunk. Take too much canopy off in July and bark that's been shaded for years is suddenly sitting in full sun; sunburn and splitting can show up within days. Mesquite, palo verde, olive, ash: this valley grows all of them, and none heal or push new growth on the same schedule. We look at the actual tree in front of us before deciding what comes off, not a generic month on a calendar.

Our process

  1. 01

    On-site assessment

We walk the property with you, take a look at your needs or the project you have in mind, and talk you through what the job will involve.

  2. 02

    Written estimate

You get a clear, itemized estimate before any work starts. No surprise charges once the crew is on-site.

  3. 03

    Scheduled work

Our certified-arborist-led crew brings the right equipment and the expertise to use it. Every cut has a purpose, and we only take what the tree or the job calls for.

  4. 04

    Full cleanup & haul-away

Debris, branches, and chips are cleared from your property before we leave. No mess left behind.

What customers say about our tree trimming

“Great staff and communication with fair pricing and fast good work. Only company I'll use for tree trimming going forward”

“Best service of three other tree trimming companies I've dealt with. Crew was professional and courteous even when having to temporarily halt their work and deal with a neighbor. They then trimmed my other trees and cleaned up the mess. They deserved the tip I gave them. I'll certainly use them again.”

“Ezra and his RedGator crew are amazing! They completed a root collar excavation and health restoration on my large desert live oak tree, trimmed, mulched, added irrigation, and left the area looking beautiful. Everything was explained so well and communication was so easy and professional. If you love your trees, trust their care with RedGator.”

“I have a privet tree that has been deteriorating over the past 12 years. I've used 2 other companies to trim it, and it kept getting worse. I finally called Red Gator tree service. Ezra came out and he is an ISA Certified arborist. He inspected the tree carefully, and explained everything that needed to be done in detail and why. Scheduled his trimmers to come out. These guys went above and beyond for us. Explained every step and cleaned up everything beautifully! Isaiah, Tommy, and John were so nice and personable! They gave specific recommendation for watering as well. I highly recommend this company for all your tree needs!”

Tree Trimming FAQs

Most mature shade trees do well with trimming once a year. Faster-growing species, or younger trees still being trained into a strong structure, often need attention twice a year. We'll give you a specific recommendation for your tree during the estimate.
